PARK RULES

For your well-being and that of those around you during your time at the waterpark, please take a moment to read and understand the park rules. Your cooperation helps ensure a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone!

  1. Participants must be able to swim proficiently.

  2. Participants must always wear a fitting PFD. It must be secured.

  3. Participants must be 5 years or older and 45" tall+.

  4. Supervision Rules: 

    1. Supervising Companions are defined as 17 years old or older

    2. 5-6 years old: A paying supervising companion is required to be with them at all times and at all points on the park, the obstacles included.

    3. 7-14 years old: A paying supervising companion is required to be on site at the quarry during the entirety of the session.

    4. 15 years and older: No supervising companion required

  5. The Harpers Ferry Waterpark is not responsible for the loss or damage of any personal items. No participant is allowed to dive into the water after a dropped item.

  6. Participants must NOT be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

  7. No smoking allowed.

  8. Participants must register, accept the terms & conditions, sign and validate the release of liability, wear a wristband, and attend our safety briefing.

  9. Participants should wear sunscreen and/or sun protective clothing.

  10. Participants must be at least 18 years or older to sign their own release of liability. For participants 17 years old and younger, a legal guardian aged 18 years or older must sign, and should be present during check-in. Please do not forget to bring a valid ID.

  11. Participants 14 years old and under are not allowed to be left on site unsupervised.

  12. Please bring something to drink with you. We want to make sure that you stay hydrated during your stay. We also have bottles of water for purchase at River Riders.

  13. Our lifeguards on duty only supervise the waterpark.

  14. Be a nice person. Participants should not swear or use profane expressions in front of children, other customers, or our staff members.

  15. Please leave all pets/animals at home (including your dogs).

  16. Carrying any form of weapons, including concealed or openly carried firearms, is strictly prohibited within the premises of Harpers Ferry Waterpark. This policy is enforced to ensure a safe environment for all visitors and staff.

  17. Participants that are late for a safety briefing must wait for the next safety briefing to start.

  18. Participants must pay attention to the safety instructions.

  19. Participants should ask questions if they do not understand or have difficulty hearing the safety instructions.

  20. Participants must not use the course in darkness or when there is lightning or thunder.

  21. Participants needing assistance at any time should call one of our lifeguards for help.

  22. Participants who endanger their own safety or that of other participants will be asked to leave by our staff.

  23. Climbing elements may not be used if there is a person underneath in the fall zone.

  24. Participants must avoid swimming under others on climbing elements unless those above have stopped moving, to ensure safety and prevent injuries.

  25. Participants should relax and not fight a fall if they think they are going to fall, dropping into the water where the PFD will return them to the surface.

  26. Participants must exit only through the official exit, not through the shoreline, and keep out of the weeds and slippery rock area of the shoreline to avoid the risk of injury.

TOP WATERPARK TIPS

  1. Participants who feel that they are going to lose balance or fall, should look at a spot in the water below them, jump in a controlled manner and let go of everything.

  2. Participants should try to keep three points of contact and keep their arms high.

  3. Participants needing assistance at any time should call one of our lifeguards for help.

  4. Participants should never dive underneath any of the features.

  5. Participants should only use the waterpark obstacles as directed to ensure they do not injure themselves or others.

  6.  Participants shall never jump onto other participants.

  7. Only one person should slide/jump at a time. 

  8. Participants should only slide/jump when the safety area is free of participants and should always slide with feet first, moving out of the landing area immediately.

  9. Participants should exit only through the official exit, not the shoreline, and should keep out of the weeds and slippery rock area on the shoreline to avoid the risk of injury.

  10. Participants should hold the handle with their hands and never put the handle between their legs, around their neck, or through their arm.

  11. There should be no unsafe riding on any moving obstacles. 

  12. Participants should always look out for fallen riders or other obstacles to avoid collision. If feeling out of control, participants should let go of the handle immediately.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

These are questions frequently asked by guests. 

  • How long is each session?​​

    • Each session is 1.5 hours long. We recommend guests arrive 60 minutes before your scheduled time slot. Your safety video will be played 20 minutes before your desired time! ​Any late guests can still join their reserved time slot, but will still be required to leave once it is over.

  • Do I need to know how to swim?

    • Yes. Participants must be proficient swimmers. ​

  • Does the Harpers Ferry Waterpark ever close for bad weather?

    • The Harpers Ferry Waterpark will only close due to thunder and lighting. The park will still be open on "bad" weather such as raining and cool days.

  • Are the prices the same for adults and children?

    • Yes. Adults and children are the same price. ​

  • Do I need a reservation to enter the waterpark?

    • Yes. You will need a ticket to enter the waterpark. Although we do accept walk-ins, we suggest purchasing a ticket online to help ensure that you receive a pass for the desired time you would like to go! If a participant is ONLY observing, we require an accurate waiver in order to be on the shore.​

  • Are PFDs provided?

    • Yes. Sizes Youth through Adult XXXL are available​

  • Can I bring my own PFD?

    • Yes. You may wear your own PFD as long as it is Type III (Level 70) PFD and Coast Guard approved. Depending on conditions, we may still ask you to wear our provided and regulated PFDs. ​

  • Do you have places to purchase food and beverage at the park?

    • No. We do not yet have food and beverages to purchase at the park, but there is a taco trailer, ice cream shoppe, and the Alstadts Ale House (American Cuisine) at River Riders, which is our main base. 

  • Can I bring food and drink?

    • Yes! You can bring your own food.  (PLEASE NOTE: You must pick up your trash and no food or beverage is allowed in the water) Please dispense of your trash in our designated trash cans!​

  • What time should we arrive?

    • We recommend arriving at least 60 minutes before your first Harpers Ferry Waterpark session. ​

  • Do we have to leave after our waterpark session?

    • Yes. After your session at the waterpark you will be bused back to our main campus located at River Riders where you can feel free to get something to eat, browse our souvenirs, and walk around!​

  • Does the Harpers Ferry Waterpark have height and weight restrictions?

    • Yes, each attraction may have its own restrictions. All participants must be 45 inches or taller to participate.

  • Does every participant need to have a waiver filled out?

    • YES. Every participant must sign a waiver and have a waiver on file in order to participate. The link will be sent to the email that you registered under OR you can click "Waiver" on the Menu Bar at the top of the website! 

  • How can I pay for my session?

    • We accept cash, credit and debit cards, and tap to pay.​

  • How old do I have to be to enter the Harpers Ferry Waterpark?

    • All participants must be at least 5 years old and 45 inches tall or taller. Please note that ​anyone below the age of 16 must be checked in with and accompanied by an adult that will stay on the property. Any participant below the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present during check-in and to sign a waiver for them. 

  • Does everyone have to buy a ticket if they are not going in the water?

    • Yes, all visitors on site must have a pass. A non-participant pass is available at a discounted price. Lifeguards will be watching for appropriate wrist bands and will tell participants without or with unapproved wristbands to leave immediately.​​​

  • What if I can't make it to my session?

    • We do not offer refunds within 3 days of your trip date. However, we do offer a credit that is good for up to 1 year from your scheduled trip date.​
